Automatic Feed Updates
If your product feed is not updating automatically as expected, here are a series of steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:
1. Verify Feed Activation:
- Feed List: Navigate to the Feed List, which displays all your created feeds along with details such as name, URL, last update, total products, and status.
- Activate Feed: Look for the “auto-on” option under the Actions column next to the feed you want to auto-update. Clicking “auto-on” changes the feed status to Ready(auto), enabling automatic updates at set intervals.
2. Confirm Auto-Update Setting:
- Ensure that the auto-feed update feature is enabled by checking that the feed’s status is “Ready (auto)” in the Feed List. This confirms that the feed is set to update automatically.
3. WordPress Cron Status:
- Check the status of WordPress Cron in the WooCommerce -> Status section. The WordPress Cron must be operational (indicated by a green status) for scheduled tasks, including feed updates, to function correctly.
4. WP Control Plugin:
- Install and activate the “WP Control” plugin to get a detailed view of scheduled events (Crons).
- Navigate to Tools -> Cron Events and look for the “WP_Product_Feed_Manager->activate_feed_update_schedules()” action. Verify that it’s active and set to recur “Once Hourly” or as per your update frequency preference.
5. Error Logs Check:
- Investigate potential errors by examining log files. Check the following locations for any error logs related to the feed or plugin functionality:
- WooCommerce -> Status -> Logs
- The root directory of your server
- The “wp-content” folder on your server
- The “wp-content/plugins/wp-product-feed-manager” folder
6. Share Findings:
