License Activation
Encountering difficulties with license key activation can be frustrating. Here are several steps and checks you can perform to resolve the most common issues related to license activation:
1. Verify License Number:
Ensure you have the correct license number. When copying and pasting, be cautious not to include any extra spaces before or after the license number, as this can cause activation failures.
2. Clear Assigned Domain:
If your license was previously active on a different domain, you need to either:
- Remove the Plugin: Uninstall the plugin from the previous webshop.
- Update License Assignment: Visit your dashboard on our website and remove the old domain from the license key. For detailed instructions, visit our Help Center.
3. Check for Security Plugin Interference:
Security plugins can sometimes block API requests necessary for license activation. For example, the iThemes Security plugin has a setting called “Filter Suspicious Query Strings in the URL” which can interfere with license key activation. Disabling this setting, or a similar one in other security plugins, may resolve the issue.
4. Review .htaccess Rules:
Special rules added to your .htaccess file for additional security or IP blocking can inadvertently prevent license activation. If you suspect this might be the case, temporarily remove these rules to test the activation process. If activation succeeds, you’ll need to adjust your .htaccess rules to allow licensing API requests.
5. Disable Coming Soon/Maintenance Mode Plugins:
Plugins that put your site in maintenance or coming soon mode can block external requests, including those for license activation. Deactivating these plugins temporarily can help determine if they are the cause of activation issues. If you need to keep your site in maintenance mode, temporarily disable the plugin to activate your license, then reactivate it afterward.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve most license activation issues.
